We attended the Digital Pathology Congress 3-4 December 2105 #GEDPC15 in London and are really glad we did.

It was an excellent opportunity to meet people from all areas of pathology.

It was good to have Lucy from our UK distributor pfmedical join us on the stand, here in the photo with Chantal.

We were kept rather busy showing the prototype of our new compact macro-imaging camera. It was great to get so much interest. It left little time to get to talks though.

I did manage to hear Prof. Paul Van Diest of UMC Utrecht on their progress towards full digital workflow, David Snead on the Coventry experiences of digital pathology in routine practice, Prof. Peter Hamilton of PathXL on the need for integration and standardisation in digital pathology. They were all excellent.

I also enjoyed the talk by  Samar Betouni, Director Clincal Pathology of the University of Bradford. She discussed the slow uptake of digital pathology despite multiple NHS/government initiatives to promote digital innovation in pathology. Her recommendations for improvement included whole team involvement. familiarisation with the technology and measures of success in outcomes.
Talks were wide-ranging covering digital pathology strategy and technology, digital image analysis, pathology imaging case studies and pathology informatics.

It was a great meeting to learn about other pathology imaging and informatics tools and platforms.
Thank you to everyone who came along for a demo. or to chat with us.
See you at #GEDPC16 London in December 2016!
