The Australian National Blood Authority announce that Cirdan is the first LIS vendor to fully interface to BloodNet

Peter O’Halloran, CIO of the Australian National Blood Authority announced that Cirdan Ultra is the first comprehensive LIS to interface fully to BloodNet, Australia’s national blood inventory management and supply chain system.
The announcement came at the Pathology Horizons 2015 conference on Fraser Island, Queensland, where Peter was a keynote speaker.
According to Peter “This is a significant milestone for the pathology services, the health services and the patients that they service. The advantages for the laboratories are a significant reduction in data entry time, increased data quality and additional real-time data streams. This time saving and enhanced data set enables these laboratories to more quickly service patient needs and to further improve their management of blood. “

Peter commented “Cirdan’s Ultra LIS is used to manage 24% of Australia’s blood supply and we are excited to be working over the coming months with Cirdan and the pathology services that use Ultra to implement the interface at each of their facilities.  Our engagement with Cirdan to develop the interface has been invigorating – they have clearly seen the need, have dedicated resources to the project and in a short period of time, delivered an outstanding product.”

Cirdan CEO Hugh Cormican commented “With experience of working with government bodies in many jurisdictions, it has been both refreshing and a pleasure to work with the NBA. Their vision and strategy for the future are inspiring and exciting and we are very happy to be a part of this. The BloodNet interface is now available as standard in our current release Ultra v 4.5 and we will maintain it for all future versions”.
