Cirdan announces the new streamlined VividPath 2.1, a PACS image acquisition and DICOM sharing software platform designed specifically for pathologists.

With an extremely intuitive streamlined interface, the newly released VividPath 2.1 is a Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) with a difference. Designed specifically for ease of use by pathologists, it is also ideal for integration with wider laboratory systems.

Users can acquire, view, annotate, report and store both macro and slide images within a dedicated secure database. With minimal steps, users create new studies, add to previous studies and manage their own worklists of cases.

The benefits are for both pathologist and patient as VividPath ensures accuracy, traceability, security and where present a history of samples, all available to those with the appropriate authorisation.

A smart desktop permits the user to view case images side by side, such as gross image alongside a slide image. Image calibration is embedded allowing speedy and accurate measurements at any time during or after capture and saving. A host of specialised widgets support the work of the pathologist such as overlay of section lines or standard cassettes.

“VividPath is an ideal solution for digital image sharing, remote consulting, collaborating and archival across laboratory networks” said John McCaffrey, Cirdan Sales and Marketing manager. “It has a dedicated PACS database, yet it can integrate with other remote PACS solutions. Fast and flexible database search options allow users to quickly retrieve studies and to review the images along with any additional information stored with the image.”

Future-proofed, VividPath has harnessed the power of Dicom, a global standard for interoperability in medical image management. This means it can fit into laboratory workflow with ease and can integrate with laboratory information systems. It brings the power of digital imaging to the laboratory in a fully-featured PACS platform with secure study management and work traceability.
