Background
Agnieszka Czerwiec is a Project Manager based at Cirdan Headquarters in Lisburn, N. Ireland. Agnieszka comes from a background in Biomedical Science specialising in the area of biomarkers for assay development. She joined the company via a Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) between Queen’s University Belfast and Cirdan. In this way, the programme enabled Agnieszka to provide expertise in the area of assay development for a specific project in Cirdan whilst at the same time making the transition from a research role to an industry role.
As time went on, Agnieszka naturally developed into the position of Project Manager for the installations and upgrades of the company’s Laboratory Information System (LIS) – ULTRA.
ULTRA Project Management
As a dedicated Project Manager, Agnieszka looks after four pathology laboratory sites currently using ULTRA LIS. This primarily focuses on the planning, coordination and execution of an ULTRA install or upgrade. This requires strong collaboration with the customer to ensure the needs of the end user are listened to and fed back to the LIS development team for further product developments.
Throughout the process, Agnieszka continuously monitors risk and will assess if any corrective action is required. The aim is to make sure customers are aware of the support and guidance that’s available to them during the implementation process. Building relationships with the customer base is an extremely important aspect of a LIS integration.
“What I like most about my job is the people I work with. The role itself is challenging but without challenges we do not grow or feel fulfilment. Career development is extremely important to me and I feel it is something I can progress within Cirdan. As my specialisation in the field of LIS software expands, my aspirations are to develop into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) type role.”
